"Errors and Reader Forgiveness"This piece shows the findings to a study I conducted exploring where and when readers are more likely to allow errors to ruin their reading experiences. This was written for editors and writers to help them know where they need to focus the most when editing their writing.

"How to Use Episode Structures to Make Readers Think"This article was written for Editing Research, a publication devoted to highlighting research that has to do with the editing and publishing industry. My goal in writing this piece was to highlight an article by David S. Miall as simply and as concisely as possible and to apply the results of Miall's research to editors.

Book Notices for BYU Studies QuarterlyThese three short articles were written for BYU Studies Quarterly to highlight the academic books To Be Learned Is Good: Essays on Faith and Scholarship in Honor of Richard Lyman Bushman; Pioneer Women of Arizona; and Salt Lake School of the Prophets, 1867–1883. The first two book notices were published in 2018 in journals 57:3 and 57:4, respectively, and the last book notice was published in 2019 in journal 58:3. My goal in writing these book notices was to give our readers a quick review of books we didn't have room to properly review in our journal. It was a little challenging because I had to be as concise as possible while summing up entire books, giving information about the authors of the books, and discussing the audiences the books would appeal to. Click on the buttons to the right to see how I did this and read the book notices.
